WHY JOIN PTA?
Prestwick Elementary PTA is a non-profit organization established with the state and federal government. PTA has many advantages that can benefit your child or children.
- Members can get connected, meet other parents and teachers and find out what is happening in their school.
- Members can contribute money and/or time and help their school community.
- Members can become role models by demonstrating the importance of education.
- Members can fundraise for their school.
- Members can share their voice, ideas and perspectives.
- Members can help support teachers and staff to promote a welcoming and positive work environment.
- Members can help strengthen the bond between staff and parents by working in and outside of the classroom.
HOW LONG DOES MY MEMBERSHIP LAST?
Membership is valid for a full school year so it will last from August 1-May 31..
WHO IS MEMBERSHIP OPEN TO?
Membership is available for staff, teachers, parents, grandparents, and community members.
WHAT DO MEMBERSHIP DUES HELP FUND?
Prestwick Elementary PTA membership dues fund class parties, PTA sponsored events, staff appreciation gifts, teacher/school supplies and equipment, playground enhancements, and so much more.
IF I JOIN PTA DO I HAVE TO ATTEND MEETINGS?
No, you do not have to commit to anything. Members are not required to attend any meetings but you are always welcome. The PTA Board meets once a month. All meeting minutes and agendas will be posted on our website for members to review.
HOW CAN I FIND VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES WITH THE SCHOOL?
PTA will send communication to members regarding opportunities to volunteer and have a presence in the school. If you join you will be the first to receive volunteer sign-ups and other volunteer school communication.
HOW DOES PTA COMMUNICATE?
Prestwick Elementary PTA will communicate via email and through Facebook.
Prestwick Elementary PTA is not a full-time time commitment. It is a "do as you can" and "all help is appreciated" kind of commitment.
